SONG - 颂 ('Forbidden' in Mandarin)
Graffiti collective RSCLS member, SONG, writes his name in Mandarin alongside Biblical symbols. For the artist, Adam and Eve are markers of the beginning of creation. Onto wood, the artist combines the sacred and, what some consider as a profane act of vandalism, graffiti writing. It is the first time SONG is working in the Mandarin script.
This artwork is part of an exhibition on different writing scripts, codes, styles and languages, titled WORD. To view more artworks from the exhibition or more artworks from the artist, request us for a catalogue.
