After watching the men in her village get slain in battle by enemy invaders, Banya ran to the woods and begged the spirits to protect her people.
Banya screamed and yelled, but only one emerged from the shadows to ward off her enemies. Little did she know, she made a deal to be paid with blood. For when the dark spirit returned, it came to claim her newborn son.
Her pleas for mercy to spare his life were only answered at the cost of more blood and thus, she sacrificed her entire village in desperation to save her child. She let the darkness feed on the very people she meant to protect, and anyone else that she may later come across.
"Anything for my baby," she said.
