Someday, 2020 will be a distant memory. During the circuit breaker period, Kult blasted an open call for digital artists regardless of experience, to spew all their feelings onto the virtual canvas under 3 categories - Escapism, F*ckvid-19 and Intimacy. All pain is valid, and we're sure someone out there feels you too.

Positions

Should anyone be familiar with the strict foot positioning required in ballet, it will be apparent that the first 3 positions are bad impressions of ballet positions 1 - 3. I, like many other young children, was forced to take ballet for the better part of the first 13 years of my life. To me, ballet was a chore and I never truly enjoyed going for classes since I had never seen the allure in such a structured sport. This drawing offers a grown-up version of what positioning connotes, though positions refer to many things outside of a sexual context, hearing others describe sexuality as a "dance" gave me the idea of creating a parallel. Though there are only positions 1 through 5 in ballet, for me life continued far beyond those 6. Thus taking the rigidity of having set positioning in a sport and applying it to other areas of life that are said to be "fluid", the work coupled with the contrast between the intimacy of sexual practice and a performing art express a journey of maturity in its slight vulgarity but in again, a satirical manner.
